What kind of needle am I?
You are interchangeable.
Fun, free, and into everything, you've got every
eventuality covered and every opportunity just
has to be taken. Every fiber is wonderful, and
every day is a new beginning. You are good at
so many things, it's amazing, but you can
easily lose your place and forget to show up.
They have row counters for people like you!
What kind of knitting needles are you?
brought to you by Quizilla
I have to say, I was not feeling this description of me so much. So I took the test again and answered with those answers that I was struggling with the first time around. You know, when there are two answers that you could go with and aren't really sure which to choose. And to my surprise, I got the same results. And I don't think this is one of those quizes that randomly gives you an answer regardless of what you put in. But what do I know? So I am INTERCHANGEABLE!! WOO-HOO, accept it and move on!

Closer to done and fewer problems...
Here it is with the hood thing (what is it??) and the bottom edge completed. I tore out the first attempt that was 3 stitches. Tara did not want any contrasting yarn. She was very upset by the idea. She said go buy more yarn, do not use anything else!! I said I would try to make it work with what I had. Plus, I like it better with two sts instead, it is more delicate and fits the sweater better.
I just have to do the bottom of the sleeves and weave in a few more ends. THEN COMPLETION!! I will mail it off right away for Teagan to begin wearing immediatly! I am very happy with it.
I didn't feel like any attached I-Cord yesterday so I worked a few rows on Handsome Hound. He is SO cute. And I saw Ian (who handsome hound is for) yesterday. HE IS THE CUTEST!! He is crawling all over the place, so sweet. Makes me want one of my own. He stared at me while we were eating lunch... I told Jessica (his mommy) that he LOVES me.

Heart...How cute!!
I did it again. I knit a heart into the armpit. If you didn't see the first one... you will find it here. Teagan needs a little armpit love, and here it is.

Done and Problems. What's a knittin' girl to do?
Here it is. Done. Well, for the most part. I did an unheard of thing (for me) I wove my ends in right away. Even before taking pictures. Bravo for me. I did not weave in the two at the armpit, but only because it was late and I want to make the join look as nice as possible, so I saved them for a more alert time.

Now I at first could not decide between doing the attached I-Cord or not. Seeing as how I had never done one before, and it is nice to be done with a project, not having to keep working on such little bits at a time. I was leaning towards not doing it. But there was so much roll!! So I did.
Before I-Cord. Look at the ugly edge roll. It nearly rolls away the lace work. So, I am adding the finishing touch - an i-cord.
As seen here in progress. It helps a lot. I did a 3 stitch I-Cord and have run into a problem. I don't think I have enough yarn to do the bottom edge. SO, Tara you have some choices. I can pull out the one I have done and see if a 2 stitch will go further. OR do it in a differnt color. It could be a nice contrast.
After I-Cord. The roll is minimized and the sweater looks more finished. Yea
As shown here with this nice rusty yarn. It is pretty, but what would you like? I have some other stuff I could dig through. A marroon, a dark green (both alpaca) I have the orange from I Do. I have navy blue. Is any of this sounding appealing? Should I try the 2 stitch with what I have?
Option for the attached i-cord. The color is more rusty then showing here. In fact, it is called rust.

And of course...
As usual, I spend forever (like I said, at least it felt like forever) looking for the needle who ran away. And finally gave in and found some replacements. After having thoughts of how my lys should rent needles, or sell single double point needles. So when one walks off OR your mean cat chews on the end of one. You are not out of luck or in the need of buying a WHOLE new set. I mean, do I really need 8 or 9 dpn?? So, if it isn't apparent, I found it. It fell off the couch and got under the carpet somehow. And while searching, I dislodged it but didn't see it right away.
Then I saw it. I screamed in delight, not in horror like when I stepped on the slug. I told Kyle how excited I was, he was indifferent. I called Tara to tell her, she was indifferent. I had just spend 15 minutes blogging about the lost needle, then it came back And NO ONE CARED!!
Except for me. I was exstatic!! I still am. It makes me so happy to find something that was lost and written off. So instead of writing about it, I should go use it and finish up on that sweater.
Off I go!!

What do you do when a needle moves out?
I have looked. High. Low. Around. EVERYWHERE. That silly little needle is gone. While I have made great progress on the bag this sweater has sat neglected for DAYS! I want it done. I want to mail it off to my precious little neice. She is cold without it. So after searching, I pulled out the bed, I pulled out the dresser. It was not behind either. I looked under one couch, I looked under two couched. It was not under either. I looked through many knitting things, in all the many places I keep knitting things. I went to bed and had completed the sleeve and placed the sweater and needles on the dresser next to the bed. I woke up in the morning, took the sweater and needles to the living room sat down, put the stitches back on the needles and only had three. Somehow I've already misplaced one of the needles for this dpn set (on a previous project...in fact it may have some stitches resting on it in the depths of my stash) so I was down to four. So when number four took a walk, never to return... what was I to do.
Well I decided to go through some of my funky stashes of needles. See, I went to the thrift store and bought many sets of needles (they all needed to be cleaned, they were all sticky from being taped together) and I have recieved some needles from my grandma as well. But I had not really delved into these sets and didn't know what existed. But tonight, after searching forever. Like 15-20 minutes (it seemed like FOREVER!!) I decided to check these out. I got out my little gauge/needle size checker thing and started poking all the needles that looked close to the right size into it. Somehow, even though they looked to be the right size, they were like size 4. Way smaller than the 8's I need.
But then...
Ugly needles, they will have to suffice!!
THERE THEY WERE! A set of size 8's. All yellow and made out of some funky looking plastic. OLD. VERY OLD. But they will work. And they will work well. They must work. OR I WILL GO CRAZY. I am already a bit crazy, I've been up since 7am. Too early.
Look "I Do" is hiding underneath "Swing". Poor I DO, will I ever wear it again?? I am excited that I made it and I got loads of compliments, but I feel so self concious in it. Those long sleeves. Normally such a good thing. Hmmmm, I will wear it, I MUST!!
So I will begin work on the cardigan again in the morning. Hopefully finishing the sleeve this weekend and maybe completing the whole project by the end of the month. We'll see.

Chirstmas is coming!!
Teagan's Christmas outfit from her Auntie. How cute!! You've got to LOVE Target. All inspired and brought together by the Fabulous swing coart cardigan. (Where is my lost needle so I can finish it?? I asked Kyle, he didn't know. How can it be gone... Oh, probably lost into the messy abyss of my house.)
Detail of shirt.

Socks?
You quite like socks, but your not overly-obsessed
with them. You would have been a pair of
knee-length socks in any colour, and probably
stripy or something to make you that little bit
more interesting.
What type of sock are you?
brought to you by Quizilla
I'd like to try my hand at making a pair of socks. That is just WAY down on the list. =)
I got all set up and ready to work on sleeve two of the cardigan. But lost a needle between the bedroom and the living room. WHERE DID IT GO??? So when I stayed home sick from work today...My head hurt...BAD. I didn't get to knit on the sweater any like I should have. BUT, I made amazing progress on the bag. Design is coming along nicely, paired decreased and increases all over the place to create the design. I am finding it quite enjoyable. Plus, the yarn is in a good place as far as the varigation goes. It is grouping together, probably pooling, I think is the technical term. But I like it. The yarn has some of the prettiest colors in it!! I need to go...knitting calls to me. I'll leave homework for tommorow morning.
Oh, I saw a woman knitting at Barnes and Noble tonight. Continental style...so fast. I have got to get on that!! Faster knitting means more possible projects.

What I ate tonight...
Sooo, I know, completly non-knitting. But it was so good I had to share. Here is dinner:
Dinner. MMMMMM, shirmp, mushroom risotto and a mixed green, gorganzola, pear salad. Delish!
And here is supper good for us dessert. I finnaly opened the juicer tonight. I wanted to make juice earlier, but had to make risotto instead. Only like 30 minutes of constant stirring. Only to have Kyle not be ready when the risotto was. He was lagging on the shrimp and the salad. So anyways... back to dessert. We struggled with whether or not we should keep the juicer or not. We really wanted it. BUT where do you put such a thing. And would we use it enough for it to be worth it? So I finally opened it...and man am I happy about such things. It was fun, and it is GOOD! The juice is two apples, two tangelos, one lime and one zucchini. The lime really adds some good flavor. It is soooooooooooo yummy!! All my apprehensions are gone. I can use so much fruit, so easy. SO HEALTHY!! Okay, I was raving about the juicer, but took a break to clean it. Hmmmm, not so fantastic. This is not something I will make when I am in a hurry and need to get out the door. Clean up is pretty intensive. Involving many parts, all of which I imagine if I left sitting would be miserable! But not too bad. If I take the same approach as with my espresso machine... clean it before I drink it, I would not have to worry about it too much!
The juicer in action (sort of, it's actually done)

large lunches go here...
What do you do when you stay home from school? You make a large bag for lunches. Okay, I will probably put knitting projects or carry it as a purse. But it sure looks like a large lunch bag. All except for the handles. It was suppoused to be lined, but I cut out the lining too small and decided to for go it. So, I don't know if I really needed ANOTHER bag, but here I go.
It's the large lunch sack.

Hat revamped
Hat revamped!!
On the glass head. Soft fuzzy lining showing. I love that fleece doesn't need anything done to its edge.
I only attached the lining at the bottom edge, that way the line of stitching is hidden in the folded brim, and when you pull it on, the lining just goes where it should. Keep the itch off of me!
Check out this hat on me, looks good! Plus matching mittens, I'll be stylish!!!
Hat on with lining peeking out. LOVE IT!!
Gotta love it, I sure do. This hat just became 10 times, NO 100 times better. I can't wait to wear it. It is starting to get chilly, and I walk to school in the mornings (not this morning, since I ditched...Shame shame!) Now Kyle wants a fleece lining in a hat for him. He likes the style of Brandon's hat better than the style of this one. He is not much for big ribbing thick yarn hats. I guess I should make something to match his felted gloves.
Scrumptious!!!
